Karin Helms – Landscape Architect 

She was a consultant for the State of the Landscape for 20 years (1999-2020) in Upper Normandy and Alsace. Karin has been active in various associations for the promotion of the Landscape Architecture profession such as EFLA, FFP, APCE and more recently President of IFLA EUROPE (2019-2021). He is a DPLG Landscape Architect, Professor at AHO, The Oslo Architect and Design school, Norway, teaches at the Landscape Architecture and Urbanism Institute. He teaches at the International Landscape Architect Masters on suburban and rural projects to respond to anticipatory social and climate adaptations. She was previously Associate Professor at the Ecole Nationale Supèrieure de Paysage Versailles. She is the creator and founder of the European Master: EMiLA. (www.emila.eu). He holds a PhD in professional practice from RMIT Barcelona (part of RMIT Melbourne) researching participatory methods for acting on large cultural landscapes in transformations that act towards anticipatory histories. Her current research concerns the multidisciplinary project NATURACT, a Norwegian Research Institute-funded project to mitigate the effects of climate change with landscape-based solutions. The case studies are Aurland, Hølen and Mesna in Norway.
