Roberto QUAGLI, Photographer.
Born in the heart of Florence in 1955, during 1974 He met three photographers, and thanks to them, He began to explore professional photography: Bruno Novarese, Tam Fagioli, and Aldo Fallai. In those years, Bruno’s studio was photographing the campaigns for Baci Perugina, Proraso, and Targetti Sankey. During that period, He worked on the catalogs of two painters, Lorenzo Viani and Antonio Bueno, shot with 13×18 cm film. In 1976, as assistant to Tam Fagioli, He was fortunate enough to follow photographic productions such as Vespa Piaggio and Auto Fiat. In 1979, He was fascinated by a photographer, Aldo Fallai, who, with his theatrical lighting and photographic cuts made directly during the shot, created images that later became the signature image of Giorgio Armani. In 1980, He founded Studio Arbre, and from there his career began, with a relationship that has lasted until now with Salvatore Ferragamo. Among his last projects are the collaborations with “Progetto Ovale volte le sbarre” supported by Compagnia di San Paolo, Regione Piemonte, Città di Torino e Casa circondariale “ Lorusso e Cotugno” di Torino and lastly among “Progetto Gorgona”, a social project born during 2012 from the collaboration between Frescobaldi and Istituto di Pena Gorgona inside the the only prison island in Europe, where, thanks to the project, inmates spend the final stretch of their sentences, working in contact with nature to develop skills that facilitate their reintegration into the workplace and society.
