Vanna Fois is co-founder and administrator of Ilisso Edizioni and Spazio Ilisso, two prominent institutions in the Sardinian cultural scene. Born in Nuoro, she has shown a great passion for research, communication, and the interconnection between various fields of knowledge since her youth, starting early collaborations with local media.
In 1985, together with Sebastiano Congiu, she founded Ilisso, a publishing house that today boasts more than 600 titles and has organized over 80 exhibitions at regional, national, and international levels. A team of specialized professionals manages the entire production process, for both the editorial and exhibition branches.
The motto “Quality is respect for humanity”, inspired by Gramsci, encapsulates the commitment to excellence and attention to well-crafted work. After five years of intense activity, Spazio Ilisso – a Museum of 20th Century Sardinian Sculpture and a location for temporary exhibitions, artistic, and performative activities – has been accredited by the National and Regional Museum System, a testament to its resilience and ability to foster culture in the heart of Sardinia.
