Motoko HASEGAWA & Niccolò BAZZANI, Controvena Atelier | Architect & Restorer
The team of the Controvena wood conservation and restoration atelier, located in the heart of Renaissance Florence beyond the Arno, in the historic district in the shadow of Palazzo Pitti, boasts a collaboration between Niccoló Bazzani, restorer (Italy) and Motoko Hasegawa, architect (Japan), consolidated over the years by uniting the tradition of Florentine restoration and the culture of Japanese art, masters of precision and wabisabi philosophy.
Over the years, this collaboration has made it possible to carry out numerous high-period restorations and high-level creations while respecting the artefact in its integrity. The Atelier Controvena team is an active part in the restoration of national and international collections. The strong point lies in being able to relocate numerous design objects, revisiting their appearance with innovative materials as in the Customized collection, a project that combines technology and restoration, giving shape to one-of-a-kind artifacts.
